Helen is eager to learn everything middle school can throw at her. But will she be able to handle it all as things get hectic?
Helen has to work with a kid she’s never met before.
Helen isn’t sure whether or not this will go well, and debates doing all the work or splitting it up.
Helen decides whether to prioritize homework, or pursue track.
Helen doesn’t have enough time after school to do both. Players have multiple opportunities to make Helen do homework at other times, such as during lunch.
Helen decides between talking to her mom, or finishing more homework.
Helen may be able to hear a fun story about her mom’s middle school experience. If the player chooses to talk to Helen’s mom, they can also choose to have Helen stay up late to do homework.
Helen gets mad at Axel for contributing less to the group project.
Helen and Axel were assigned to a group project. Axel’s relaxed attitude clashes with Helen’s high-achieving one. Helen gets mad at Axel. She feels guilty but quickly moves on.
Helen apologizes to Axel after yelling at them earlier.
After Helen realizes that she needs to reduce her workload, she decides she needs to apologize to Axel for yelling at them during the group project.
Helen tries out for the track team.
Helen can get 3rd or 5th, depending on the player's earlier choices. If she gets 5th, she is disappointed. An older kid invites her to a sleepover.
Helen gets an offer by an older kid on track to let her copy assignments.
Helen looks very stressed at the sleepover, and the older kid notices. The older kid has notes from previous years. Helen will always reject the offer, but the player can choose how much to consider it.
Helen finds herself in a portal where she realizes she needs to stop trying to do it all.
She reflects on how it led her to lash out against her project partner Axel, and how she didn’t like the other track kids. She decides that instead of doing it all, she needs balance.
